Innpacto Projects 2012-2014 (2012 Call for Projects)

The projects described below have been co-funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competition under the INNPACTO subsidiary programme. They come within the instrumental approach of Co-ordination and Internationalisation of the System, within the framework of the Spanish National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation.

The SUBSYNC project, an advanced subtitling synchronisation system for live broadcasts, was led by Informática El Corte Inglés as part of the INNPACTO subsidiary programme for 2012-2014, file number IPT-2012-0921-430000, as a co-operative action or project.

The aim of the SUBSYNC project is to develop and validate a technical solution prototype for the existing international problem of a lack of synchronisation in subtitles for live TV broadcasts, by providing users with the option of playing live, subtitled TV programmes where the audio and video are synchronised with subtitles that have been created in real time.

The project is led by IECISA, with the participation of Carlos III de Madrid University and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

CONTVLAB, Connected TV Lab Project (Distributed system for verifying, testing and certifying Interactive Television applications and services): Informática El Corte Inglés is taking part in this project within the framework of the INNPACTO subsidiary programme for 2012-2014, file number IPT-2012-0871-430000, as a co-operative action or project.

The aim of the ConTV-LAB project is to develop a testing and validation service for applications for Connected TV environments in the HBBTV standard and other Smart TV environments, as well as to study and undertake tests on specifically implementing Android as a Smart TV open platform.

The project is led by Merkum Energética 2010 S.L. with the participation of IECISA, Vilynx Spain S.L.U., Magicbox Television and Interactive Services S.L., University of the Balearic Islands, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (Aragon Technology Centre).
